FaxCongress™ Community Guidelines:

Our goal is to create a dynamic community where members can support causes by faxing their representative in Congress, and encouraging others to do so.

1. Please choose carefully all information you post, transmit, publish, and submit, on or through our Site and Services.Information submitted through Petitions is public and some data (like your name) is viewable by all users to our Site. When writing a Petition to your Congressman, please don’t: (a) submit the Personal Information of others, or include their names and addresses, without their written permission; (b) write your own Personal Information such as your home address or home phone numbers into the 3 big paragraph blocks when since you may not want this published on our site.

Note: Some of your registration data (like your address) will remain unpublished and shared only with those you authorize to see it, for example with your Congressman at the bottom of your fax.

2. You agree that you shall not include URLs or links to other Sites in your petitions.

3. You agree that you shall use our Site and Services for lawful purposes only.

4. You are solely responsible for your Submissions/Petitions. You agree that you shall not submit, post or transmit any material that:

(i) Isn’t age or subject appropriate for our community. Use respectful language always, and be professional in your communications to Congress, even if you disagree with them.

(ii) Misrepresents facts, or is false or misleading. (For example, don’t submit false “imposter” information when creating or signing a Petition, don’t impersonate any person or entity, real or fictitious, and don’t falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.)

(iii) Disparages, defames or libels another person or entity;

(iv) Is threatening, abusive, bullying, intimidating, harassing, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, racial, vulgar, immoral, obscene, profane, pornographic, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable; (We reserve the right to delete petitions and ban users for any reason.)

(v) Promotes or advertises products or services (unless authorized to do so by us);

(vi) Violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others including but not limited to, any intellectual property rights, the right of privacy, or publicity;

(vii) Contains sexually explicit material;

or (viii) Encourages conduct that could or would constitute a crime or criminal behavior or offense, could give rise to civil liability or otherwise violates any law.

5. We are dedicated to respecting user’s information. Don't use the Services or Site to:

(i) Facilitate mail or fax abuse, or unsolicited email of any type (Spam);

(ii) Create liability for us, or cause us to lose (in whole or part) the services of our ISPs or other suppliers;

or (iii) Bypass any security features (including the use of another person's user name to access the Site) or encryption tools that we may use to prevent or restrict access to all or parts of the Site.

6. And if you didn't like somebody else’s Petition, tell us why. The abuse red flags are there in the event a user violates any of our Guidelines or Terms.

(i) We encourage our user community to flag petitions that may appear disrespectful, immoral, or appear to be posted by imposters who use false names or duplicate accounts.  PETITIONS MAY AND PROBABLY WILL BE DELETED FROM FAXCONGRESS.COM (WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE OR SUBSEQUENT EXPLANATION) IF IN OUR OPINION THEY:

--Use disrespectful or foul language, including obscenity or profanity.

--Promote immorality or contain sexually explicit content.

--May contribute to the delinquency of minors or harm children.

--Claim to be endorsed by FaxCongress (since we do not endorse petitions).

--Contain any other violations of our Terms of Use.

(ii) If you think one of the petitions on FaxCongress violates these conditions, we encourage you to flag it for our review, under the display of the petition itself.  Petitions that are flagged by one or more members of our community may be reviewed as our time permits, to ensure they do not violate our terms of service, and we reserve the right at our sole discretion to approve or delete any petition for any reason, including reasons not listed above, without explanation.

7. FaxCongress reserves the right to determine what petitions meet the criteria listed above, and what may be safely expressed in our private community, and to prohibit at our sole discretion any form of unsafe or immoral expression on our site.

8. You further agree that you will not, unless you receive written authorization from us, distribute, promote or otherwise publish any material containing any solicitation for funds, advertising, or solicitation for goods or services on our Site or through our Services.

9. You agree you will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.

10. You agree you will not collect users' Submissions/Petitions or information, including user names and/or emails addresses, and you will not access our Site or Services using automated means without our permission.

11. We reserve the right to refuse service to users for any reason. If your Account has been terminated for any reason, you may not re-register as a user or member without our prior written consent.
